This is the tea ceremony room of new style, which is encircled by roof-tiled corridor in two directions of south and west. The guests can attend tea ceremony, sitting in the chairs.

If the paper screens are put up on the threshold, it is converted to the traditional three-matted tea room. It is quite unique, as the tea room half Japanese and half western constructed some fifty years ago. This produces an excellent harmony of tradition and modern life. Itsuo's "Good Idea" is fully shown even in the world of tea ceremony.

The ceiling of corridor is made of bamboo frame with marsh reeds in checker pattern and that of tea room itself is the wickerwork of Japan cedar plates.

The tablet in the eaves, "Soku-an", is written and carved by Mr. Issei Hatakeyama, Itsuo's intimate tea friend and the founder of Hatakeyama Art Museum in Tokyo.
